St. Louis, Missouri, is known for many things: fantastic Italian food, the best fans in baseball, blues music, a world famous zoo, beer, the list goes on. Some things on the list are negative, like a high crime rate (although those stats are skewed). Missouri in general is supposedly the meth capital of the world and the puppy mill capital of the world. On the other hand, we have our positive side, such as the fact that we put on the largest Komen Race for the Cure in the world.
From a historical perspective, St. Louis is known for being the launching point for the Lewis and Clark Expedition. Expansion to the Western U.S. was birthed largely from St. Louis, giving our city the nickname "Gateway to the West." The Gateway Arch is a symbol of exploration and expansion. I believe, and pray, that St. Louis will be another type of gateway - a gateway and birthing place for a this last, end-time revival. I hunger and thirst for more of God and for a renewal of His power and glory in our city. It will take people of determined prayer who have a passion to help others. It will take more than just one man or woman, more than just one church, it will take all of us...in a position of readiness and obedience.
I am starting this blog in the hopes of uniting those who deeply desire to be on the cutting edge of this move in our city. I am not interested in promoting myself. In fact, I choose to remain as anonymous as possible because it's not about me, it's about my God and my city. I am also not interested in promoting a particular church. I love my home church dearly and love my pastors, but I want to see churches across St. Louis unite, not compete. This blog is simply to inspire and encourage us in our desire to see God move.
Will you come with us?
